A Small Distraction from Reality
Phuket and Phi Phi Islands, Thailand
There is a time lag in our posts. Before those of us outside China began to fully understand the threat from the COVID-19 crisis, we visited Phuket and Phi Phi islands in Thailand. We won’t offer any commentary about the visit. We’ve simply put together a photo montage.
Hopefully viewing the pictures will provide a momentary respite from the non-stop stream of increasingly bad news (and for those of you in Canada, a distraction from the brutal weather).
Before the need to lock down became so imperative we visited Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son, Thailand, and were based in Bangkok for the winter. At some point we will share those experiences. This does not seem the time.
We are now self-quarantining at a house in Thailand to protect ourselves and those we might come in contact with. We urge everyone to do the same.
To the friends and fellow travellers we’ve met along the way: Stay safe. Wash your hands. Keep your distance.
Thank you for that. Beautiful and seemingly very peaceful.
Beautiful and calming, thank you!
Thinking of you both, continue to stay safe!
Thanks for the lovely photos. You two stay safe and healthy!
Nice to Take a different kind of a break, ease on the pen, enjoy the turquoise waters…..Breath in deep , breath out…. Living the dream is for sure …. Enjoy each other.
Thinking of you both.
Ash &Pauline.
A lovely respite from the frenzied world we’re all living in just now – thank you very much !
Thinking of you as you self-quarantine in Thailand and wishing you good health and good spirits during these anxious times.
Thanks for the pictures. A welcome respite indeed! Thailand is such a wonderful country. You chose well to hunker down there.
Cari and I had wondered how covid-19 would affect your adventure. Your self-quarantine is sensible and well, quite inevitable I suppose. Similar constraints apply here as well. Imagine my dismay now that my regular mid-week meeting with a few friends at the pub is off the menu of life’s little pleasures! But I trivialise.
Make the best of it, maybe enjoy the enforced peacefulness, and keep well.
