Corfu, Greece
After leaving Croatia we headed to Corfu, Greece for a few days. Visiting Corfu was partly the result of a hiccup in our planning. We had intended to stay in Sarandë, Albania for a month. The nearest airport is Corfu. After booking our flights to Corfu we changed our minds about Albania. Since we’d already booked Corfu, off we went, and we’re glad we did.
The entire Old Town of Corfu is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has retained its charm as a fortified port. The Old Town is very quaint, with lots of restaurants, narrow alleys and pedestrian zones for leisurely strolling.
The Ionian Sea does not disappoint, with its many shades of aquamarine and turquoise. The islands and bays around Corfu are the stuff of postcards.
Corfu gave us our first taste of Greek Islands. We plan to head back to others later in the fall.

Living the Dream, indeed.
I especially enjoy the “we changed our minds” as that is the only way to truly capture all the unexpected . Plans are great, but serendipitous adventures are amazing. Spontaneity – now that’s freedom!
No pics of Maria swimming yet I see.
Visited Corfu in 1988 with student nurse pals and it sure was beautiful. Im hoping you are behaving yourselves. Hugs from the El Cid
you will love your adventures to different Greek Islands – we saw a few and the beaches rival the beach at Turks & Caicos- where I have just arrived for a week!! Enjoy!!
Nice.
I threw a stone from Albania side to reach Corfu, but the stone landed in the water…. Please pick it up if you find it…..
Spontaneity I like … you guys are doing a great job ….. Envy, Envy.
Looking forward to Bulgaria 🇧🇬, great wines I understand
